Bouygues UK is the NPTC Group of Colleges Education Award winners after claiming the title at The Wales Responsible Business Awards 2019.
The Bouygues UK Go Construct – Educate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Maths) project aims to attract and inspire young people to consider a career in construction through the creation of a complete toolkit for teachers.
Already reaching 16,000 young people, by 2020, Bouygues UK aims to have engaged a total of 21,000 pupils on construction-related learning activities. Bouygues UK’s core business aims to address the awareness, attractiveness and profile that have resulted in a skills shortage in the building industry, to ensure that the industry is prepared, and has nurtured the talent required, for its expected growth. Bouygues actively works in collaboration with other industry partners, education providers and careers services through a consortium. With a focus on raising the aspirations of the hardest-to-reach young people, The Go Construct programme pulls together construction opportunities, from trades to technical and professional roles. Pupils and teachers are encouraged to actively participate as part of their curriculum, reaching across the academic spectrum.
