David was appointed Group Director of Commercial Banking in September 2017, and is responsible for supporting corporate clients from small- and medium-sized enterprises and mid-corporates to large corporates and financial institutions. In addition to fulfilling the everyday banking needs of businesses in the UK, the division provides products and solutions across global transaction banking, capital and financial markets, and lending.

David started his career with Lloyds Bank 33 years ago on the graduate entrant programme, and has since held a number of leadership roles across all divisions of the group. Immediately prior to his current role, he was the Group Director of Retail and Consumer Finance, responsible for the Lloyds, Halifax, Bank of Scotland, Lex Autolease and Black Horse brands including the retail branch networks, customer products and telephone banking, as well as the retail business banking and UK wealth businesses.

David was first appointed to the Group Executive Committee in May 2014 as the Group Director of Operations and IT. Before that, David held the roles of Group CIO, Managing Director of SME and Mid Markets Banking, Managing Director of Asset Finance, Chief Operating Officer of Commercial Banking, Managing Director of Offshore Banking and Group Procurement Director.

David became the Lloyds Banking Group Executive Sponsor for Disability in 2014, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
