In 1986, Keith Chanter joined BOC PLC, the global industrial gases company, where he spent 11 years holding senior and board level positions for several of the operating companies and business divisions. In 1997, he moved to Bristow Helicopters Group as Group Finance Director and in 1999 was promoted to Chief Executive Officer to lead a turnaround of this business where he stayed until 2004.
After a few years in consultancy, Keith joined Emcor UK in July 2007 as Group Finance Director. In November 2008, he became Chief Executive Officer.
He holds the following qualifications: chartered accountant in the London office of PWC in 1982 and industrial economics at Nottingham University in 1979.
Keith believes that to be successful, corporations should seek to embrace all stakeholder needs to build enduring relationships with colleagues, customers, supply chain partners and the communities in which they operate. This, coupled with a focus on delivering high quality, cost-effective and sustainable solutions, are his main drivers for the Emcor Group.
Keith’s priority as CEO is the safety and wellbeing of Emcor’s colleagues. He believes in a whole-person approach to employee wellbeing, designed to minimise or eliminate physical or mental harm and encourage development and career progression.
This is supported by a clear leadership style that accepts no compromise in safeguarding the welfare of those who come into contact with Emcor’s services day to day.
