Mitul Shah

Purpose Lead Partner – Tax Practice,
Deloitte

London Leadership Board

Mitul Shah is a Partner at Deloitte and leads its global reward consulting business. He advises boards (in particular directors of large listed companies) on all aspects of how organisations remunerate their executives and employees, linking pay designs and frameworks to business strategy and performance.

Mitul’s clients range from large listed companies (both FTSE listed companies as well as companies listed in other markets) to privately owned entities. Mitul has a keen interest in the role and responsibilities of boards in relation to how they engage and communicate with all stakeholders and in particular their employees and investors.

In addition to his advisory work, Mitul is a member of the executive board of Deloitte’s tax and legal business with responsibility for how the business embeds purpose at the heart of all activities. Mitul is a member of Deloitte’s purpose council as well as Deloitte’s ethnicity council. He is passionate about making Deloitte (as well as the broader business community) a more diverse organisation from an ethnicity perspective, particularly at senior levels). He is therefore driving efforts to create a more inclusive culture within which people from all backgrounds can develop and thrive.

Over the past three years, Mitul has been recognised by Yahoo Finance and INvolve as one of the top 100 ethnic minority executives and who is leading by example and removing barriers on the pathway to success for ethnic minority employees.

Mitul has chosen to join Business in the Community’s London Leadership Board because he feels passionate about businesses acting in a responsible manner and ‘walking the walk’ when it comes to their broader responsibilities to the society in which they operate. In particular, he wants to drive tangible actions that lead to increased ethnic diversity within organisations and creating a culture which truly provide equal opportunities to all, regardless of background.

Outside of work, Mitul loves spending time with his four-year-old son and following his beloved Leicester City football club (and trying with limited success for his son to follow suit).
