Richard has been Finance Director of Greggs PLC since 2006. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and gained career experience with Procter and Gamble, working in product category and supply chain finance roles before joining Greggs in 1998. In 2011 he won the ICAEW’s ‘Sustainable Business Award’ at the FDs’ Excellence Awards for his work as Greggs’ Community Champion and in supporting and leading the development of the Greggs Breakfast Club scheme.
From 2011 to 2015 Richard chaired BITC’s North East Regional Advisory Board. He is a trustee of The Alnwick Garden Trust where he chairs the Finance Committee.
He is married with two children and lives in Northumberland where he finds that the wonderful landscape exceeds his abilities as a cyclist.
